The client is seeking a mission-focused Chief Program Officer (CPO) to lead and oversee all program operations. This role partners closely with senior leadership and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, with responsibility for advancing residential and wraparound services for vulnerable youth experiencing homelessness, runaway situations, and exploitation. The CPO is expected to be a collaborative, people-centered leader who builds trust across teams, invests in staff development, fosters psychological safety, and leads with integrity and accountability while modeling respect and transparency.
As program strategist, the CPO will elevate program design to address young people’s critical needs, assess existing processes and staffing, and restructure programs to improve efficiency and outcomes. Responsibilities include budgeting for, operating, and managing 24/7 residential programs as well as a range of wraparound services, with a focus on evidence-based approaches and achieving strong, proven outcomes. The CPO will bring strong analytical skills and be able to develop, execute, and track data-driven short-, medium-, and longer-term plans.
The CPO will support a diverse workforce through exceptional capacity for motivating, managing, and mentoring teams, while helping grow and sustain a positive, inclusive workplace culture grounded in cross-departmental teamwork, open communication, and continuous quality improvement. The role requires high emotional intelligence and the capability to leverage talent across management teams and departments to deliver high-quality programs and effective services. Reporting is to the CEO, and the CPO is expected to demonstrate executive-level leadership capability, accountability, and the ability to drive ongoing quality improvement across program operations.
