Description

The client seeks a Chief People, Culture & Equity Officer to lead the organization’s people function and develop workplace culture and justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic direction. In this senior role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the President and CEO, partner across the organization as a member of the Executive Team, and support enterprise priorities through close collaboration with executive and leadership groups.

You will champion and sustain a unified, welcoming, anti-racist, and inclusive culture, providing departmental leadership and oversight of the People, Culture & Equity function. The role includes leading through organizational change, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and the collective bargaining agreement, and advancing enterprise JEDI strategy while supporting mission-facing and programmatic JEDI priorities led by program leadership.

The Chief People, Culture & Equity Officer is accountable for enterprise-wide JEDI strategy across workforce practices, organizational culture, leadership development, organizational systems, learning, accountability, and employee experience. The position is expected to balance approximately half People and Culture leadership with half enterprise JEDI leadership, embedding equity across all people practices. Candidates should have an MBA or MA/MS in a related discipline or equivalent experience or training, at least 10 years of HR and/or people leadership including at least five years at the executive level in an organization of at least 100 full-time employees, demonstrated experience leading enterprise JEDI strategy and culture change with measurable results, experience managing in a unionized environment, strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, and the ability to translate JEDI commitments into practical changes in policies, practices, leadership behaviors, and culture.
