the client seeks a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to define and direct the organization’s operations strategy. This is a strategic, collaborative leadership role requiring strong communication, relationship building, and a proven record in operational management and strategy, with a clear dedication to advancing equity, inclusion, and a culture that supports students and the educators who serve them.
Reporting as a key partner to the CEO, senior leadership team, the Board of Directors, and regional and foundation leadership, the COO will provide leadership and strategy for short- and long-term operational planning, translating those plans into systematized processes and procedures across the network. The COO will support ongoing DEI initiatives, help standardize an operations vision focused on sustainability across the organization and its regions, and develop a community of practitioners working together to ensure resources are used effectively in service of educational impact.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in change management, leading and aligning teams and operations within a complex organization, and overseeing complex budgets while guiding significant change toward successful outcomes. Given the organization’s strong commitment to racial justice and equity, the COO will be expected to operationalize policies, practices, and systems that foster equity and inclusion throughout a federated structure, and to drive a performance-based culture centered on delivering excellent results for the children served.
