The client is seeking a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to provide executive-level leadership that advances the organization’s mission of promoting racial equity and economic justice in South Central Los Angeles. The COO will oversee day-to-day operations, strengthen overall organizational effectiveness, and supervise Directors, ensuring the organization produces outcomes connected to its theory of change. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership, the COO will help set strategic priorities and operationalize programs to meet the needs of the communities served.
The COO will collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop and implement a strategic plan aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals. Responsibilities also include designing and overseeing systems and processes that support efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability, along with providing operational oversight across all program areas to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and community impact goals. The role will include establishing and improving reporting systems and working with Program Directors to monitor key performance indicators and impact metrics, with the goal of tracking progress toward expected outcomes.
The COO will partner with Program Directors and senior leadership to lead corrective action plans and make adjustments to program implementation as needed to improve results and ensure continuous operational learning. The position will support efforts to strengthen community-driven initiatives and organizational capacity, including coordinating operational support that enables program execution and measurable impact. The COO is expected to provide clear leadership across operations while reinforcing organizational accountability and commitment to the client’s community impact priorities.
