the client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead the next phase of growth for a highly engineered engineer-to-order manufacturing organization serving life-saving medical technologies. This role is part of an executive leadership team and emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and hands-on leadership across business operations and people development.
The Chief Operating Officer will own global manufacturing operations across multiple domestic and international facilities, driving operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, quality, scheduling, warehousing, and logistics. The role includes championing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen quality, delivery, inventory performance, and overall operational effectiveness, while partnering closely with Engineering, Commercial, and executive stakeholders to improve cross-functional execution.
Key responsibilities also include leading strategic initiatives such as acquisition integration, manufacturing optimization, capacity planning, ERP utilization, and operational standardization, as well as developing and mentoring operational leaders and establishing meaningful operational KPIs focused on safety, quality, customer delivery, and profitability. The client is looking for senior executive manufacturing leadership experience in roles such as COO or VP Operations, with proven success in low-volume, high-mix, engineer-to-order environments, multi-site leadership, Lean and operational excellence experience, and cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality; a bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred.
