The client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to serve as a senior enterprise leader reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. This role will strengthen a complex, mission-driven organization by integrating and continuously improving school and adult-service operations across multiple sites. The COO will connect program realities with organizational strategy, ensuring decisions are grounded in service quality, regulatory requirements, workforce needs, and financial sustainability, while helping the organization build the leadership capacity and operational alignment needed to sustain quality and thoughtfully expand its impact.
The Chief Operating Officer will lead the integration of enterprise functions including school and adult-service operations, admissions, facilities, technology, and related shared services. Key responsibilities include translating strategy into operating priorities, decision rights, accountability structures, and execution plans; improving communication and coordination across programs so information reaches the right stakeholders and issues are resolved at the appropriate level; and balancing near-term operational demands with longer-term organizational development and readiness. The COO will also establish durable institutional knowledge, incident-response discipline, and continuity across critical operating processes while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
The COO will pair operational rigor with humanity, leading, coaching, and developing senior program and operations leaders and advancing cultural change while maintaining trust with a long-tenured, mission-committed workforce. The role requires a solutions-oriented partner to the CEO who can see patterns, surface blind spots, and bring clarity to competing prioritiesāstrengthening systems and decision-making structures so routine work can occur closer to the point of service. The successful candidate will demonstrate credibility across clinical, educational, administrative, and operational teams.
