The client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to help drive and execute annual goals, objectives, and strategic plans alongside the President/CEO and executive leadership. This leader will provide operational oversight and will be expected to inspire and engage staff through strong leadership, while maintaining a high standard of service and ensuring day-to-day operations are effectively managed.
Key responsibilities include planning, developing, and supervising daily operational functions of the bank; overseeing Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, and Information Technology; and supporting expense control. The role includes managing and developing a high-performance management team to achieve or exceed budgetary goals, guiding teams to manage policies and customer-facing operations in compliance with regulations, and ensuring staff follows established policies and procedures. Additional duties include resolving customer service issues, identifying and mitigating operational risk, overseeing research and analysis to support operational evaluation and strategic planning, achieving satisfactory audit ratings, participating in community events, and expanding or formalizing partnerships.
The client expects the Chief Operating Officer to have a bachelor’s degree plus fifteen years of banking operations related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required qualifications include outstanding leadership skills, demonstrated strategic planning ability, thorough knowledge of bank operations, strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent organization skills with the ability to remain productive in a high-growth, dynamic environment. Proficiency with the MS Office Suite is expected.
