The client seeks a Chief Operating Officer (m/w/d) to be based at the company headquarters in Cologne, to start at the earliest possible date. In this key leadership role, you will oversee and align core operational functions, including Business Enablement (such as helpdesk and language services, web and platform operations, and CRM), Operational Excellence, and Integrated Management System (IMS) governance.
As COO, you will ensure that systems, processes, and teams work together effectively to support global impact and sustainable growth. You will drive continuous process optimization, implement best practices, and leverage modern technologies to improve performance, while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture. You will also establish clear role and responsibility structures and support change and transformation initiatives across the organization.
The position calls for relevant academic training in business administration, organizational development, operations, digital management, or a comparable field. You will bring substantial experience in senior operational roles, ideally within small to mid-sized, internationally active organizations, and you will be able to act as both a builder and an operator who safeguards operational quality and builds trust with stakeholders. Proficiency in English at a business level is expected.
