The client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to oversee daily operations across multiple manufacturing plants in China, typically spanning production planning, manufacturing execution, quality control, supply chain management, and facility management. The role is responsible for maintaining consistent efficiency, productivity, and adherence to global operational standards while scaling production capacity, reducing operational costs, and improving time-to-market for electronic components.
The COO will drive operational excellence through lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement, focusing on eliminating waste, optimizing processes, and strengthening operational resilience and profitability. Responsibilities include leading and developing a high-performing operations team (including plant managers and quality-focused leadership), ensuring accountability and collaboration, and managing operational transformation initiatives that may include automation and digital manufacturing to enhance productivity and flexibility.
Key requirements include a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, with an MBA preferred, and 15+ years of progressive operational leadership in electronic components manufacturing, including at least five years in senior executive roles overseeing multiple plants in China. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a proven track record managing operations for electronic components serving automotive, data center, and medical markets, with strong knowledge of applicable quality and regulatory expectations, robust operational optimization and supply chain expertise, data-driven KPI monitoring, and excellent leadership, cross-functional communication, and problem-solving capabilities. Fluent English and Mandarin proficiency is required for communicating effectively with global and local teams.
