We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for a cutting-edge CBD cosmetics startup based in Berlin, Germany. The company operates in the European market and focuses on premium, sustainably sourced CBD products aligned with natural, vegan, and cruelty-free production principles. Following a recent acquisition, the organization is undergoing reorganization and refinancing as it prepares for its next growth phase.
In this role, the COO will guide and strengthen operations during a pivotal period of growth and operational excellence, including navigating the challenges and opportunities of a startup environment and integration with a new parent company. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations and coordinating executive functions such as IT, Marketing, Sales, and Finance; developing and implementing operational policies and procedures; supporting the CEO with strategic goal setting and execution; managing the operational budget to support profitability and growth; designing business strategies and related procedures; and establishing initiatives that promote company culture and vision.
The ideal candidate is an executive with a proven track record in the beauty and personal care industry, ideally including experience in a large corporation, as well as entrepreneurial experience that demonstrates adaptability and innovation in fast-paced, transformative settings. Key requirements include proven COO-level or equivalent leadership experience, understanding of core business functions (such as HR, Finance, and Marketing), strategic planning and business development competency, and working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics. The role also calls for strong organizational and leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems; a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is required, with an advanced degree such as an MSc/MBA preferred.
