Description

the client is seeking an accomplished and collaborative physician leader to serve as Chief of Staff. In this senior physician leadership role, the Chief of Staff is appointed by and accountable to the Board of Directors and serves as Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee. Working closely with the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Chief of Staff provides strategic clinical leadership and acts as a key link between the Board, medical staff, and senior leadership team to advance quality of care, patient safety, physician engagement, and clinical excellence across the organization.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the Chief of Staff serves as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior leadership on clinical quality, professional practice, resource utilization, and the delivery of care. The role will support transformational organizational change, including efforts to engage physicians in planning discussions, advance innovative models of care, and foster alignment across sites and clinical programs so that clinical priorities inform future service design and delivery.

The Chief of Staff fosters strong relationships with physicians, hospital leaders, and community partners while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The position provides leadership and oversight for medical staff credentialing, appointments and reappointments, performance management, professional development, and physician engagement, working with Chiefs of Department and organizational leaders to support effective clinical service organization and quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will bring a system perspective and demonstrated experience in medical administration, physician engagement, quality and patient safety, and health system leadership, with a strong ability to communicate, influence, build consensus, and lead through complexity; leadership education or equivalent training and prior experience supporting transformation in complex healthcare environments will be considered a significant asset.
