Description

The client’s Chief Nursing Officer is the senior nursing leader for the facility and serves as a member of the senior leadership team in partnership with the President and Director of Operations. The role provides executive nursing management, direction, and leadership, and is responsible for driving and modeling a caring, service-oriented professional culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience. The Chief Nursing Officer helps ensure effective collegial relationships with internal and external constituents and stakeholders and participates with site, regional, and system-level leaders and the medical staff in planning and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities.

Required qualifications include a BSN and a Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field. The role is expected to have at least five years of progressively increasing experience in senior nursing leadership, with demonstrated depth managing diverse patient care functions in a hospital setting or a matrixed health system of relevant scale and complexity. Prior Chief Nursing Officer experience is viewed favorably. Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Pennsylvania, or the ability to obtain Pennsylvania licensure, is required; National Nurse Executive Certification (ANCC NEA-BC) is preferred.

The Chief Nursing Officer should be able to successfully navigate a matrixed organizational structure and demonstrate leadership capabilities, including staff development, mentoring, and coaching. Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation/platform abilities, are expected to effectively lead and influence across teams. This role will support and advance a performance-focused culture of continuous improvement while partnering with leaders and medical staff to enhance patient outcomes and the patient experience.
