the client is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Membership Officer (CMO) to lead its next chapter of membership growth, engagement, and brand leadership. the role reports to the general manager/CEO and works closely with the board of governors. the client is a vibrant, global alumni community with a strong presence in the Boston area, offering a dynamic mix of social, intellectual, athletic, and professional experiences for members.

the CMO will develop and execute an integrated strategy for membership growth, engagement, marketing, and communications. responsibilities include strengthening the client’s position as a premier hub for its affiliated alumni community, stewarding and expanding a global member base, and activating an engaged local alumni market to deepen connection and drive long-term growth. the role also supports the client’s continued evolution by helping guide membership-related initiatives that enhance value and long-term engagement.

the Chief Membership Officer will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning membership development, events and programming, marketing and communications, and member relations, aligning these functions under a unified strategy. the client’s mission is to provide a social, intellectual, and athletic hub for its alumni and affiliated community in the greater Boston area, and the CMO is expected to champion this purpose through coordinated member-focused efforts in partnership with executive leadership and relevant board committees.
