The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for UH Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital (RB&C) is a key executive position responsible for providing leadership to the hospital medical staff and working closely with entity leadership to integrate patient care services across multiple disciplines. The CMO oversees credentialing, serves as chair of the Medical Executive Committee, manages physician relations and staffing, and directs utilization and case management. Additionally, the CMO oversees clinical operations, acts as the Physician Advisor for senior leaders, and partners with the Chief Quality Officer for quality assurance efforts.The CMO plays a crucial role in ensuring quality care delivery and strong operations by coordinating resource management and partnering with hospital leadership on patient flow-related activities. This position is responsible for data-driven initiatives and ensuring appropriate involvement from physician departments, divisions, and committees. The CMO works closely with various hospital leaders, including the President, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Department Chair of Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgeon in Chief, and Pediatric Primary Care Institute leaders to ensure effective patient care delivery in both hospital and outpatient settings.
