Our client is looking to hire a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide clinical leadership within South Australia's public health system. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, Clinical System Support and Improvement, the CMO will play a crucial role in shaping clinical governance, safety, quality, and professional standards across SA Health. This position requires a combination of strategic influence and clinical operational insight to guide a high-performing, contemporary health system.The CMO will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of statewide clinical strategy, focusing on advancing safety and quality, strengthening the medical workforce, and progressing priorities in medical education, research, and professional development. Working closely with Local Health Networks, chief clinical leaders, and senior executives, the CMO will drive greater integration across the system to enable coordinated, evidence-informed care and sustained improvements in outcomes. Additionally, the CMO will represent South Australia at state and national levels, engaging with Government, professional bodies, and academic partners to shape policy and practice.
