The client is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to shape the next chapter of audience growth and institutional visibility. Reporting to the senior leadership team, the CMO will lead an integrated strategy that drives earned revenue, strengthens the customer experience, elevates the brand, and positions the organization as a compelling cultural destination locally and beyond. This role is for a forward-looking marketing leader who is energized by data, digital innovation, and emerging technology, and who can turn curiosity into action while building audiences into advocates.
The Chief Marketing Officer will lead strategy, execution, and performance across marketing, communications, sales, audience engagement, and patron experience. The role will build demand, drive revenue, deepen loyalty, and translate the organization’s artistic and community impact into measurable audience growth. Responsibilities include growing earned revenue across subscriptions, single tickets, groups, and other audience-facing lines of business; enhancing the end-to-end customer experience so every touchpoint builds trust and advocacy; and implementing a modern marketing model that uses technology, analytics, automation, and experimentation to improve reach and results.
The CMO will provide strategic leadership by developing integrated campaigns to increase ticket sales and other earned-income opportunities, using segmentation, forecasting, and performance analysis to maximize attendance and customer value. They will foster cross-functional alignment with development, education, and community engagement to create consistent audience touchpoints and coordinated strategies across programs. The role also includes overseeing digital and technology strategy across audience-facing channels, championing insight-driven personalization and testing, evaluating emerging tools with discipline, and leading a multidisciplinary team with clear priorities, performance expectations, and disciplined budget and resource management that supports innovation and continuous improvement.
