The client is seeking a Chief Legal Officer to establish and lead its legal function during a period of rapid growth. Reporting directly to the Founder and CEO, this executive will partner across finance, development, and operations to support complex infrastructure investments and help shape long-term strategy.
The Chief Legal Officer will serve as the senior legal advisor across corporate, commercial, financing, development, and regulatory matters. Responsibilities include leading negotiations for complex infrastructure, real estate, construction, financing, and strategic commercial agreements; advising leadership on governance, corporate structuring, risk management, and regulatory compliance; and supporting land acquisition, development, permitting, zoning, and related property transactions.
The role will also build scalable legal operations, including contract management, compliance programs, and oversight of outside counsel. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership, along with 12+ years of transactional experience supporting infrastructure, energy, project finance, construction, or commercial real estate. Prior experience establishing or leading an in-house legal function is strongly preferred, and the candidate should demonstrate a track record negotiating and closing sophisticated, high-value transactions, with strong communication, negotiation, and business judgment.
