The client is seeking a Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to serve as the organization’s principal legal advisor and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to senior leadership and providing recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors, the CLO will ensure the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations while enabling sound, timely business decisions.
The CLO will oversee all legal matters, including healthcare regulatory compliance, governance, contracts, employment law, privacy, and litigation management. The role is expected to provide strategic legal counsel across the organization, supporting decision-making and risk-informed operations.
Candidates are expected to have a Juris Doctor degree, along with ten or more years of experience as in-house counsel for a law firm or healthcare organization, and admission (or eligibility for admission) to the New York Bar. Strong knowledge of health care legal and regulatory trends—particularly compliance, risk, and employment matters—is required, along with exceptional relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and advisory skills to partner effectively with executive leadership, the Board, management, and staff.
