the client’s Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Equity leader will work closely with the CEO and the executive team to help implement the organization’s strategic plan and annual goals. In this role, you will contribute to an organization-wide focus on equitable, inclusive, and lawful employment practices while supporting employee engagement and positive employee relations. You will also serve as a member of the executive team and help shape organizational culture in partnership with senior leadership.
You will develop Human Resources and Equity strategies with the CEO and executive team, and then implement those strategies to meet organizational goals, manage costs effectively, ensure legal compliance, and create an engaged workforce. Responsibilities include leading HR and equity functions such as talent acquisition and onboarding for employees and volunteers, HRIS and payroll, job design and compensation, benefit strategy and administration, employee and volunteer relations, union negotiations, and leadership development. You will also prepare operational department plans that support both organizational and ancillary objectives.
Additional responsibilities include consulting internally on organizational development and equity issues, updating HR policies as needed based on organizational needs and legal requirements, and partnering with legal counsel when appropriate. You will design or modify how work is organized into positions, review job descriptions and changes for compliance with employment laws and bargaining agreements, and plan for recruitment, hiring, and retention with adjustments as strategies or market conditions evolve. The role also oversees volunteer programs and staffing sources (including independent contractors and staffing agencies), ensures employment practices comply with federal, state, and local laws, and leads performance management, onboarding experiences, and consistent leader education during coaching, discipline, or termination.
