The client is seeking a collaborative Chief Financial Officer to guide the financial health and strategic direction of a mission-focused organization. Reporting in partnership with senior leadership and the Board, the CFO will translate financial insights into actionable strategies, support sustainable growth, and strengthen services for children, families, and the broader community. The role combines enterprise-level financial leadership with strategic influence and hands-on oversight of accounting and revenue cycle management.
Key responsibilities include developing and aligning financial strategy with the organization’s mission, establishing performance measures, and anticipating short- and long-term financial needs tied to major capital and program development. The CFO will support enterprise planning, resource allocation, and risk management by serving as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining effective internal controls and financial information systems, overseeing budget preparation and forecasting, and producing accurate monthly reporting to enable informed decision-making.
The CFO will also lead and manage external relationships, including coordinating managed care contract negotiations, maintaining statutory compliance, and overseeing annual audits and related financial matters for stakeholders. They will provide leadership to the finance function by mentoring and developing a high-performing team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement, and leading cross-functional initiatives to strengthen financial stewardship across departments. The role typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with CPA and/or MBA preferred; candidates should have finance leadership experience in complex, service-based settings such as healthcare or behavioral health, strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and revenue cycle management, and the ability to partner effectively with clinical, operational, and executive leaders.
