The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a rapidly growing construction business. This pivotal leadership role reports directly to the CEO and is focused on bringing structure, rigor, and strategic financial oversight to support continued expansion. The CFO is expected to provide both hands-on leadership and strategic direction in a fast-paced, evolving environment where financial clarity and control are essential.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing the finance function by implementing best-practice processes and controls; overseeing accounting, reporting, and financial planning activities; and driving improvements in financial systems, data integrity, and reporting accuracy. The CFO will partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership to support commercial decision-making, manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital effectively, and provide guidance related to bonding requirements and external stakeholder relationships.
The successful candidate will bring proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience within the construction or contracting sector. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a CPA is ideal but not essential. The role also calls for strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution, experience improving and stabilizing finance functions in high-growth environments, and the confidence and resilience to challenge and influence senior stakeholders while maintaining adaptability and ownership. Strong systems experience is expected, with exposure to construction accounting platforms advantageous.
