Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a member of the executive team and a key business partner to senior leadership and the Board through the Audit and Finance Committee. The CFO is responsible for strategic and operational financial and accounting processes, serving as a leader for finance and may manage additional functions such as procurement, legal, and other teams. The role includes accountability for administrative, financial, and risk management operations, with a focus on developing and executing financial and operational strategy, metrics, and control systems to protect company assets and deliver accurate financial reporting.

The CFO develops financial and related plans to achieve strategic goals and ensures ongoing execution through improved reporting systems that enable decision-making by senior stakeholders, management, and governance bodies. Responsibilities include establishing policies, procedures, and business controls that support sustainable and profitable growth, overseeing financial planning and analysis, budget forecasting and re-forecasting, and translating results into actionable insights for strategic planning, cash flow management, and financing discussions. The CFO also assures timely and accurate financial closing processes and overall responsibility for completion of the annual IFRS audit.

In addition, the CFO manages key external relationships with stakeholders such as investment and commercial bankers, investors, insurers, vendors, legal professionals, and audit professionals, and advises on strategic partnerships and equity-related initiatives with attention to deal analysis, forecasting, planning, legal considerations, and critical risks. The CFO leads risk management processes, manages global tax strategy and compliance and related audits, supports employment and business regulatory environments, and addresses exchange rate strategy. The role requires a bachelor’s degree with an advanced degree preferred, a proven track record in a similar environment, data-driven leadership, strong judgment and communication skills, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required; experience leading debt and equity financing and M&A transactions is a plus.
