This Chief Financial Officer role (CFO) supports a large, established financial services organisation focused on strong operations and delivering excellence. The position is responsible for developing and executing the organisation’s financial strategy in alignment with broader business goals, shaping long-term growth and value creation, and ensuring financial stability while supporting growth objectives.
The CFO will lead a large, high-performing finance function, promoting an inclusive and collaborative culture that motivates, mentors, and develops talent at all levels. Key responsibilities include overseeing accounting and finance activities to ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting; providing strategic insights and trusted counsel to executive leadership by translating complex financial information into actionable recommendations; and leading budgeting and forecasting to align financial plans with organisational priorities and changing market conditions.
The CFO is expected to monitor and manage financial risks, strengthening controls and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, while also optimising capital structure and managing liquidity in a dynamic environment. The role includes driving cost efficiency and performance improvement while maintaining high operational and service standards, and acting as an external ambassador by building credible relationships with auditors, investors, and financial institutions; successful candidates typically bring strong leadership in financial services, knowledge of financial planning and risk management, regulatory and corporate governance experience, exceptional stakeholder influence, and a relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, along with experience including SMF2 responsibility within the sector.
