Description

The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee all bank accounting functions in the Tampa, FL area. This senior leader will guide the organization’s financial area toward growth and expansion, with a focus on directing financial activities such as reporting, planning, supervision, and investment-related decision-making. The role will support the executive team in forecasting and budgeting and help drive financial strategies for continued organizational development.

Key responsibilities include preparing and/or directing annual tax return processes and producing financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reporting. The CFO will serve as a member or chairman of the bank’s ALCO committee and will coordinate audits and compliance activities related to state and federal requirements. Additional duties include overseeing the authorization and processing of disbursement requests in line with company policies, monitoring reserve levels and other financial activity to meet legal and regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong internal controls and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting activities.

The client is looking for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from a four-year college or university. A master’s degree is preferred, along with a CPA designation (preferred). The role typically requires four or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and includes proficiency with common PC software (such as Excel, Word, and Access). The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and resolve complex financial problems while leading training and development in budgeting and financial management.
