Description

The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors. This role provides financial leadership and stewardship to support long-term sustainability and mission success, with a mission-driven, data-informed approach to resource allocation, innovation, and organizational growth. The CFO leads the finance function and oversees cross-functional areas including financial strategy, revenue cycle management, contract and rate management, systems and data optimization, and information technology operations.

Key responsibilities include partnering with the CEO, board, and executive team to develop and execute financial strategies, providing forward-looking financial insight through modeling and forecasting, and advising on balancing mission priorities with fiscal responsibility. The CFO ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance across a diverse funding and payer landscape, while overseeing revenue recognition and reporting processes. This includes improving cash flow, accelerating reimbursements, reducing denials, and managing payer relations across Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, and private payers, along with leading payer and vendor contract negotiations and rate setting/cost methodologies.

The CFO is also responsible for driving modernization and integration of financial and operational systems to strengthen data quality and accessibility, partnering with IT leadership to support operational efficiency, security, and scalability, and using analytics and performance dashboards to enhance transparency and decision making. Additional duties include leading all financial operations (such as accounting, treasury, audit, and compliance), ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting aligned with GAAP and regulatory standards, and developing annual budgets, multiyear forecasts, and scenario plans. The role requires progressive financial leadership experience, expertise in Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement and managed care contracting, and demonstrated experience integrating systems and leading cross-functional teams; experience in public accounting and background in multisite real estate/facilities management is preferred.
