The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee the corporation’s financial activities, including directing the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and creating forecasts that predict future growth. This role will lead the Accounting and Finance Department, manage budget preparation, oversee audit functions, and collaborate with other department heads to monitor financial results and provide recommendations.
The Chief Financial Officer will manage the Asset/Liability profile and supervise the budgeting process for the bank and its affiliates. The role also leads liquidity risk management and serves as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee, generating and overseeing related reporting for management review, supervising required periodic regulatory filings, and ensuring monthly reconciliations of accounts and the general ledger. Additional responsibilities include analyzing the loan portfolio and profitability drivers, monitoring relevant insurance policies, drafting and annually reviewing financial management policies and procedures, supporting shareholder and regulatory communications, assisting with securities investment portfolio management, and working with external and internal audit functions, including responses and reporting.
The client will support strategic oversight through board-level updates on financial management for the bank and its affiliates, and assistance to senior leadership in monitoring regulatory capital positioning and adherence to Basel III requirements. The role will also involve contributing to special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or a related area) and 10+ years of prior experience in banking, accounting, or a similar finance-related field in a highly regulated environment; a graduate degree and/or CPA is preferred. Proficiency in reading and analyzing financial statements in regulated environments is required, along with experience with FDIC and other regulatory exams.
