The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee the corporation’s financial activities. The role directs the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, develops forecasts to predict future growth, and supervises the Accounting and Finance Department, including budgeting and audit-related functions. The CFO will work with other department heads to monitor financial results and provide recommendations based on analysis.
Key responsibilities include managing the organization’s asset/liability profile and supporting budgeting for affiliated entities. The CFO leads liquidity risk management, generates and supervises asset/liability, budgeting, and risk measurement reports for management review, and oversees the preparation of periodic regulatory reporting such as call reports. The role also includes supervising monthly reconciliations, analyzing the loan portfolio and producing portfolio analytical reports, monitoring relevant insurance policies, and drafting and reviewing financial management policies and procedures, including those related to market and liquidity risk.
The CFO will assist with financial communications to shareholders and related regulatory items, support incentive compensation profitability analysis, and help manage the securities investment portfolio. The position interfaces with external audit firms for annual financial statements and supports internal audit administration and responses, while also assisting with administrative and compliance functions. The CFO provides board updates as required, supports regulatory capital monitoring and adherence to Basel III requirements, and may participate in special projects with senior leadership. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or a related area) and typically 10+ years of prior experience in banking, accounting, or similar finance roles in a highly regulated environment; a graduate degree or CPA is preferred.
