Description

the client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for its community bank in the San Francisco, CA area. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee all accounting and financial functions, guiding the organization’s financial strategy toward growth and expansion. You will provide support to the executive team on forecasting and budgeting and help translate financial insights into planning that supports next-level performance.

Key responsibilities include directing overall financial activities such as reporting, planning, supervision, and investment; preparing and supporting annual tax-related filings and financial information; and preparing or directing financial statements, business activity reports, forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reports. You will serve as a member of or chair the bank’s ALCO committee, supervise teams supporting financial reporting and related accounting functions, maintain alignment with organizational policies and current accounting standards, and coordinate audits to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements. The role also includes managing disbursement requests in accordance with policy, monitoring reserve and other legally required financial details, and overseeing performance and personnel actions for finance-related staff.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting (master’s degree preferred) and a preferred CPA designation. The role typically requires four or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with strong proficiency in common PC software and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and resolve complex financial challenges. You will also be expected to support internal control policies and lead staff training in budgeting and financial management.
