the client is a middle-market private equity-backed multi-site manufacturing platform operating across multiple states, focused on scaling through organic initiatives and add-on acquisitions while unifying performance management, reporting, and execution across operating companies. the client seeks a chief financial officer (cFO) to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and help lead the next phase of growth through operational discipline, improved financial rigor, and future acquisition activity.
the cFO will lead finance, accounting, and business operations with a strong emphasis on building a scalable, KPI-driven operating environment. responsibilities include overseeing accounting, FP&A, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, and financial reporting across the platform; partnering with the CEO and operating leadership to improve margins, inventory performance, procurement discipline, and return on invested capital; using data and analytics to identify opportunities for margin expansion, process efficiency, and working capital improvement; and driving plant-level accountability and performance across multiple locations.
the role also supports acquisition diligence, integration planning, and post-close execution for add-on acquisitions, including standardizing reporting, controls, KPI frameworks, and management processes across acquired businesses. the successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with proven leadership as a cFO, VP of finance, or senior finance leader in a manufacturing environment. requirements include strong accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, internal controls, and KPI-based performance management, demonstrated experience improving profitability visibility in a manufacturing setting, multi-site manufacturing experience (ideal), meaningful cross-functional partnership with operations and supply chain/inventory/procurement or plant leadership, strong analytical skills balanced with practical operating judgment, and executive-level communication, integrity, accountability, and follow-through.
