Description

The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who reports to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a key member of the executive team. The CFO will be responsible for overall financial strategy, integrity, and performance, creating an environment that supports successful organizational performance and financial viability. The role includes establishing financial policies, programs, and processes to ensure consistent actions and accurate, timely reporting to the board and required external agencies.

The CFO will provide strategic leadership for a highly complex, healthcare-related delivery system and will be expected to guide the organization toward growth targets while maintaining profitability. Responsibilities typically include serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership; overseeing cash flow, treasury, financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting; managing banking and auditor relationships; and ensuring regulatory, tax, and compliance requirements are met. The CFO will also oversee finance operations such as accounts payable/receivable, revenue cycle, managed care contracting and compliance, and the timely monthly financial close, while developing insights into the operating margin needed to support long-term strategic priorities.

In addition, the CFO will establish annual operating and capital budgets and help maintain positive bond ratings through a strong focus on long-term cash flow and debt capacity. The role will act as the primary financial liaison with external entities, including providers and relevant state and federal finance and rate-setting leaders, and will build constructive relationships with audit, financial, and investment communities. The CFO will partner with the board on financial strategies that may include mergers and acquisitions, affiliations, joint ventures, and the launch of new revenue opportunities, and will lead, manage, and mentor the finance team, supporting performance through motivation, training, coaching, and professional development.
