The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as the senior finance leader and a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting to the President, the CFO will provide financial leadership, commodity risk management expertise, operational support, and strategic partnership. The role will influence organizational performance, manage financial risk, and support growth through collaboration across the organization and with global stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include leading accounting and finance functions such as financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, with a focus on accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting. The CFO will deliver financial insights and analysis to inform business decisions and profitability, maintain strong financial controls and accountability, and provide independent, constructive challenge to leadership. The CFO will also lead commodity risk management and hedging strategies by monitoring commodity markets and partnering with commercial, purchasing, and operations leaders to evaluate risks, opportunities, and mitigation approaches.
The CFO will serve as a trusted advisor to the President and executive leadership team, supporting decision-making through financial analysis and scenario planning, and identifying opportunities to improve performance, enhance margins, and increase organizational effectiveness. The role includes leading and developing a finance team of approximately 6–7 professionals, with direct management of the FP&A Director and Controller, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Additional responsibilities cover banking relationships, treasury operations, cash flow and liquidity management, long-term capital planning, and collaboration with global finance teams on reporting standards, governance requirements, and financial processes, supported by partnerships with external advisors as needed. The role requires progressive financial leadership experience culminating in a CFO or comparable senior finance role, demonstrated commodity hedging and risk management experience, and strong cost accounting and manufacturing economics knowledge, along with experience leading planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting functions; relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, processing, commodities, agriculture, metals, or related sectors is expected.
