The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a strategic leader responsible for comprehensive financial management within a large, multi-specialty clinic comprising over 200 providers across various locations, with a total staff count of 930. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO collaborates closely with executive leadership to devise and implement financial strategies that enhance the clinic's growth, sustainability, and financial integrity. This position is instrumental in driving the clinic's growth agenda while maintaining strong financial stewardship, operational discipline, and regulatory compliance.
The CFO's key responsibilities include developing and executing financial plans to support the clinic's growth objectives and sustainability. They serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, identifying and negotiating new business opportunities, and establishing financial standards and accountability frameworks. The role oversees capital access, investment management, and reimbursement strategies, alongside tax-related matters. The CFO provides leadership to Director-level personnel across Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Health Information, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Building Services, and IT. Additionally, they act as the Corporate Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance and risk management.
In terms of position accountabilities, the CFO ensures financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax filings are managed effectively in collaboration with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee. They develop financial performance metrics to monitor strategic goals, lead the annual budgeting process, and manage cash flow and investment strategies. The CFO is also responsible for optimizing reimbursement and accounts receivable performance, monitoring legislative changes for their financial impact, conducting due diligence for acquisitions, and overseeing contract negotiations. They are tasked with leading a high-performance team through coaching and development, and work with the CEO and Compensation Committee to implement a competitive physician compensation program.
