Description

The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee all accounting functions for a community bank client. This senior leader will guide the organization’s financial area toward growth and expansion and is expected to support development and execution of financial growth strategies. The role includes directing overall financial activities, supporting the executive team with forecasting and budgeting, and ensuring effective preparation and filing of annual tax-related financial information in coordination with outside accountants.

Core responsibilities include preparing and directing financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and regulatory reporting. The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a member of or chairman for the bank’s ALCO committee, supervise employees involved in financial reporting and accounting functions, and maintain current knowledge of organizational policies, directives, and accounting standards. The role also involves conducting or coordinating audits and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements, managing the receiving and authorization of disbursement requests, and monitoring financial activity such as reserve levels to meet legal and regulatory obligations.

Additional duties include monitoring and evaluating the performance of accounting and other financial staff and recommending personnel actions, coordinating financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities, and developing internal control policies for areas such as cash and credit management and budget administration. The Chief Financial Officer will analyze financial performance to identify improvement opportunities, evaluate funding needs and surplus investment options, and lead training and development related to budgeting and financial management. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from a four-year college or university, with a master’s degree and CPA designation preferred, along with four or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; proficiency with PC software (including spreadsheets and word processing) and strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure are also expected.
