Description

The client is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as the chief steward of financial resources and a key strategic advisor to the President and the Board. The CFO will provide executive leadership as a member of the President’s Cabinet, ensuring effective oversight of the institution’s financial planning, budgeting, accounting, treasury, and related governance responsibilities while aligning financial management with the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability goals.

The CFO will oversee financial operations and compliance across student financial services, grants and federal compliance, procurement, auxiliary enterprises, and risk management functions. This role is expected to ensure that financial activities are conducted with integrity, transparency, and full compliance with GAAP, FASB not-for-profit accounting standards, and applicable federal and state regulations, including those governing Title III and federal grant funds and Title IV student financial aid.

The CFO will lead the Division of Financial Affairs, currently comprised of approximately 27 full-time equivalents and 29 headcount. The position also includes supervisory responsibility for the division’s leadership team and cross-functional collaboration to support strategic financial vitality, strengthen controls and stewardship, and enable informed decision-making for senior leadership and the Board.
