the client is seeking a visionary, strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial operations for a newly unified PreK-12 independent Jewish community day school launching for the start of the 2027-2028 school year. This role will help shape the school’s financial strategy as part of a broader effort to support sustainable growth, financial transparency, and alignment with the school’s mission and community priorities.
Reporting to the Head of School, the CFO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership and operational oversight. Responsibilities include guidance on long-term planning, risk management, and partnering with school leadership, board committees, and lay stakeholders to support institutional priorities and ensure the school’s financial sustainability.
The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor and collaborative leader with experience managing complex financial operations in independent schools, nonprofit organizations, or similarly mission-driven environments. They will bring expertise in budgeting, financial planning, financial reporting, and internal controls, along with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights that support the school’s strategic and operational objectives.
