Description

Chief Financial Officer for a nonprofit, community-based healthcare provider serving a multi-county region across north-central Montana. The organization operates an integrated network of hospitals, physician practices, senior services, outpatient facilities, and community programs, with a focus on delivering a continuum of care for both urban and frontier populations. The CFO role is a strategic leadership position within the Executive Leadership Team, serving as a trusted advisor on enterprise-wide financial matters.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will oversee all financial functions across the system, including financial reporting and analysis, accounting, revenue cycle management, budgeting and forecasting, capital planning, financial systems, internal controls, and operations improvement. This leader will partner closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that support long-term growth, stability, and the organization’s mission, while providing clear financial insight to inform decision-making.

The successful candidate will have deep healthcare finance experience across hospital and physician enterprise operations, as well as exposure to senior services and related long-term care, home care, reimbursement considerations, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in health system finance and operations. A master’s degree in a related field and professional certifications such as CPA and/or healthcare finance and management and healthcare leadership designations are preferred.
