The client is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its Executive Team and help shape and deliver the next strategic plan. The role will provide strategic leadership for the client’s financial management, supporting long-term sustainability, value for money, and alignment with educational priorities across a multi-site organization.
Key responsibilities include leading budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, and statutory reporting, and presenting clear, timely financial information to the Executive, Board, and relevant committees. The Chief Financial Officer will also oversee Trust-wide financial systems, controls, procurement, and compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic oversight of human resources and payroll, including workforce planning, affordability modelling, and employment compliance.
The successful applicant will lead risk management, audit, insurance, and assurance processes, advising the CEO and Trustees on financial and operational risk. The role calls for senior financial leadership experience (ideally as a CFO, Finance Director, or Deputy) within a complex multi-site not-for-profit or public sector environment, strong strategic financial planning and statutory reporting experience, and the ability to lead and develop professional finance and/or HR teams at Board and Executive level; strong governance, risk management, and value-for-money understanding is essential, with education-sector experience being desirable.
