Description

The client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a newly established executive team and help shape the organization during a transformative period. Reporting as a key member of the CEO council, the CFO will provide strategic leadership and overall financial and operational oversight in support of the organization’s business plan and strategic direction.

the CFO will develop and execute finance strategy, providing vision and innovative guidance across financial management, budgeting, reimbursement, accounting, and related functions. This role establishes and implements accounting policies and procedures, and oversees accounting and financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, enterprise analytics, revenue cycle, and treasury. The CFO will participate with the President and other senior leaders in institutional planning, policy development, and problem resolution, and will serve as an ambassador to build positive community relationships and advance the organization’s standing with key constituents.

the ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or an equivalent field, with a master’s degree in a related discipline preferred. CPA certification is preferred. The role typically requires ten years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including managerial healthcare financial management and decision support, along with seven years of supervisory experience in an accounting or financial capacity. Candidates should be able to develop financial and operational systems for accurate reporting and control, analyze complex problems to develop recommendations, demonstrate ongoing professional development, and show team-based leadership with strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills; experience in a safety-net academic medical center with a matrix organizational structure is preferred.
