Description

the client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer Business Unit CFO for a leading business unit and key member of the leadership team. The role will provide strategic financial input to decision-making, safeguard financial performance, ensure compliance with local and international regulations, and embed a strong risk management culture. The CFO will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, contributing to business strategy, performance targets, and long-term value creation.

The CFO will lead all financial aspects of a large-scale cement manufacturing operation, including cost control, logistics economics, depreciation, and capital-intensive asset management. Responsibilities include consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring across multiple countries and legal entities. The role will ensure robust governance, compliance, and internal control standards aligned with group policies and local regulatory requirements, and will support post-merger integration and M&A projects through activities such as financial due diligence, integration planning, and execution.

The position will actively contribute to leadership and culture development and lead and develop the finance organization, including succession planning, capability building, and internal promotion. The CFO will represent finance in group-level leadership forums and support executive development activities. The successful candidate will typically bring 15+ years of financial leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably with asset-heavy operations, strong expertise in financial control and governance areas (including accounting, treasury, tax, risk management, and internal controls), and advanced knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, performance management, and compliance. A university degree in finance or a related field and professional certifications are an advantage, along with experience in international digital transformation and group/regional governance structures; fluency in German and English is expected, and additional European languages may be beneficial. Experience related to decarbonisation initiatives is an advantage.
