Description

The client is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its Executive Leadership Team during a period of organizational growth and expanded global impact. The CFO will provide executive leadership for the organization’s financial strategy, stewardship, accounting operations, treasury, financial planning, compliance, and enterprise risk management, and will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team. This role is intended to build on strong financial health, mature financial controls, and an experienced finance team.

Responsibilities include leading financial operations and core finance functions such as budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial reporting, and long-range financial planning. The CFO will ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, gift-in-kind accounting requirements, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and will oversee annual audits, tax filings, internal controls, and enterprise risk management. The CFO will partner with executive leadership on organizational strategy, financial modeling, and long-range planning, delivering timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting and strategic guidance to leadership and the Board.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and at least 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior experience as a CFO or senior finance executive. Significant nonprofit financial leadership experience is required, with strong expertise in nonprofit financial management and reporting, complex nonprofit accounting (including restricted funding and gift-in-kind accounting) preferred, and demonstrated experience partnering with Boards and executive leadership teams. A CPA is strongly preferred, and other advanced qualifications may be advantageous; international ministry, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or global nonprofit experience is also preferred, alongside demonstrated strategic planning, forecasting, treasury, audit oversight, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, and strong financial systems capability.
