The role is a pivotal strategic leadership position with responsibility for finance, treasury, and procurement, helping simplify operations, strengthen confidence, and deliver long-term ambitions. The Chief Finance Officer will serve as the key strategic lead for financial matters, with a strong emphasis on ensuring a customer-first approach across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include leading financial stewardship by overseeing financial planning, financial business partnering, financial accounting, procurement, treasury management, and investor relations. The role also involves shaping customer-driven decisions by aligning finance leadership with the organisation’s purpose and enabling colleagues to deliver a better customer experience. In addition, the Chief Finance Officer will provide robust assurance by managing finance to deliver strong financial controls, improve performance, and mitigate risks.
The successful applicant will bring executive experience or a senior management background with regular exposure to executive decision-making and the ability to lead and inspire a diverse workforce across finance and treasury. The role requires strategic capability to lead financial planning in a complex organisation and a performance-driven, cross-organisational approach focused on achieving better outcomes for customers. A qualified accountant status (CCAB or equivalent) with a proven track record is required, and experience in social housing or other relevant industries is expected to be advantageous.
