The client is a global philanthropic funder focused on conserving and protecting endangered species and prioritizing long-term, equity-based solutions at the intersection of environmental conservation and social justice. The Chief Finance & Operations Officer (CFOO) is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as an integral member of the leadership team, with responsibility for developing the organization’s financial management strategy and contributing to the achievement of its strategic goals.
The CFOO leads and supports key internal functions including finance, accounting, human resources, information technology, and office operations. The role also provides governance support by helping plan, schedule, and document Board and Committee meetings, overseeing the preparation of meeting materials, and ensuring that board minutes and resolutions are properly recorded and archived. The CFOO advises leadership on financial planning and budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and operational policy matters, and serves as a liaison to relevant Board committees.
The CFOO is expected to contribute to the organization’s strategic development and overall management by maintaining clear communication with the CEO and escalating critical issues as needed. Externally, the CFOO represents the client in relationships with core vendors, investment advisors, and legal counsel, helping maintain effective partnerships that support the client’s mission and operational continuity.
