The client seeks an incoming Chief Executive Officer to provide enterprise leadership for its mission, strategy, people, programs, financial health, and external relationships. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead a strong executive team, collaborate closely with the Board, and represent the organization with government partners, funders, donors, community leaders, relevant network entities, staff, and the communities served.
The role supports an organization delivering a broad range of human services across the region, including crisis care and behavioral health, housing and shelter, hunger prevention, early learning, personal support services, community resource centers, dispute resolution, and workforce development. The CEO will lead through a period of strategic renewal focused on financial discipline, responding to shifts in public funding, overseeing the completion of significant capital projects, managing workforce change, and strengthening decision-making related to program portfolio, costs, and investments. Early success is expected to include a deliberate organizational assessment and decisive action to improve long-term sustainability.
Following stabilization, the CEO will drive strategic growth by translating the strategic plan into an operating framework, diversifying revenue beyond government sources, strengthening private philanthropy and community partnerships, and expanding the organization’s presence and impact across the region. The ideal candidate will be visible, hands-on, and relationship-centered, building trust across all levels, engaging communities throughout the region, and executing with practical rigor in a complex portfolio of services that requires strong quality oversight and careful management of community relationships.
