The client seeks a Chief Executive Officer to serve as the senior executive and principal staff leader, accountable to the Board of Directors through the Board President. This Washington-based association leadership role is responsible for strategic, policy, operational, financial, membership, and organizational leadership, and for acting as a highly visible spokesperson for publicly owned metropolitan drinking water systems.
The CEO will advance The client’s federal advocacy on legislative and regulatory priorities, ensuring member perspectives are represented before Congress and relevant federal agencies, while also shaping the organization’s strategic horizon in partnership with the Board and senior staff. The role is expected to strengthen internal operations, improve member engagement, and lead a capable professional staff to support The client’s continued growth and next era of advocacy and member impact.
Key priorities include deepening member relevance and growth through engagement, recruitment, and retention efforts; serving as an external voice and visibility leader with policymakers, media, peer organizations, and other stakeholders; and ensuring strong organizational performance by leading staff, systems, technology, programs, events, and business processes with disciplined financial and operational stewardship.
