the client is seeking an experienced, visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead a public charter elementary school serving students in K-5. The school’s mission centers on students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, while remaining open to any student regardless of learning profile. The educational model emphasizes structured, literacy-focused, multisensory instruction with small class sizes, personalized teaching, direct interventions, and social-emotional supports, aiming to provide an accessible option that supports inclusive academic success.
the client’s learning approach combines research-based literacy instruction with personalized, adaptive teaching and holistic student support, designed to build strong reading and writing foundations while supporting overall development. Beyond literacy, the school promotes whole-child, student-centered learning and provides integrated co-teaching to support students’ needs. Classroom structures prioritize low student-to-teacher ratios and flexible grouping so instruction and support can be tailored to each student’s current level, alongside social-emotional learning, enrichment, and creative expression to build self-confidence and resilience.
The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the organizational leader responsible for academic, operational, financial, and cultural success in alignment with the school’s mission. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the CEO will lead executive and strategic priorities, drive academic excellence and outcomes, strengthen school culture and stakeholder engagement, and oversee operations and finance. The CEO will also support charter renewal and growth priorities, ensure strong governance and relationships with the authorizer, and act as the primary liaison to the New York State Education Department, external partners, and the broader community, managing the Principal and non-instructional leadership staff while guiding the school through a founder transition.
