The client is seeking a new CEO to lead an aggressive growth strategy. The role will focus on expanding omni-channel distribution with a strong emphasis on ecommerce, building strategic partnerships, and helping identify potential acquisition targets. The CEO will be expected to drive the company’s continued expansion while maintaining a clear focus on sustainable profitability.
The CEO will be responsible for leading business performance through strong financial acumen, including P&L management and an understanding of the key levers that drive profitability. Success in this role will typically require experience running a growth-oriented, profitable business where scalable people, processes, systems, and controls are important, particularly in a rapidly changing or disruptive environment. The CEO will also be expected to partner effectively across leadership roles to implement positive change throughout the organization.
Qualifications include experience in customer-facing leadership, with the ability to develop and communicate a compelling brand story and differentiation message to US retail customers. Strong knowledge of US retail channels and customers, along with deep relationships with buyers and senior decision-makers, will be important. Social media and content-driven marketing strategy experience is also expected, as is a customer service orientation and the ability to bring best practices across functions and levels of responsibility; experience with private equity or corporate board roles is preferred. The client is also open to candidates with outdoor sports or sporting goods backgrounds, though retail channel expertise may be weighted strongly.
