Description

The client is seeking an accomplished, values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead a nonprofit community support organization serving adults with disabilities. The role focuses on guiding the organization through growth, transformation, and increased impact, building on an existing foundation while the organization progresses an ambitious long-term strategic plan. Priorities include evolving the service model, strengthening culture and teamwork, modernizing technology and data practices, and advancing accessible and affordable housing opportunities, within a complex health and community services environment shaped by evolving needs and shifting workforce and funding conditions.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership to translate the organization’s long-term vision into action. This includes taking an enterprise-wide perspective to strengthen organizational and leadership capacity, improve alignment and accountability, and ensure disciplined execution that connects strategy, resources, operations, and risk. The CEO is expected to preserve and advance client-directed services, keeping decision-making grounded in dignity, autonomy, choice, and self-determination.

Key responsibilities include advancing the organization’s long-term strategic plan by translating priorities into measurable action and positioning the organization to respond to changes in government policy, funding, and community needs. The CEO will build an aligned, collaborative, inclusive leadership culture by supporting succession and leadership development and empowering staff to contribute and perform effectively. The role also requires driving operational excellence and modernization across a complex, multi-union environment, including financial stewardship, workforce planning, quality and performance improvement, risk management, and compliance with regulatory and funding requirements related to safety and organizational obligations.
