The client is seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a Cyprus-based entity as it establishes and expands EU-regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI) operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic and executive leadership across commercial, operational, financial, and regulatory priorities, with a focus on delivering business objectives and building a trusted, well-governed institution.
The CEO will establish a robust governance framework and embed a strong risk and compliance culture, while building a scalable operating model supported by appropriate controls. Key responsibilities include overseeing corporate governance and organisational design, leading and developing senior leadership across compliance, risk, finance, operations, technology, commercial, and customer functions, and ensuring full regulatory compliance, including safeguarding obligations, AML/CTF requirements, conduct standards, and broader prudential expectations.
Additional responsibilities include managing financial performance and capital planning, driving commercial growth through strategic partnerships, product development, and market expansion, and ensuring effective oversight of operational resilience, risk management, technology, and business continuity frameworks. The CEO will represent the business externally with regulators and key stakeholders, promote continuous improvement and innovation in a dynamic growth environment, and provide regular reporting to the Board; qualifications include 10+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or related regulated financial services, along with proven senior leadership experience in growth-stage or entrepreneurial settings.
