Description

The client is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead and inspire the organization in accomplishing its mission and creating lasting impact in the community by helping eradicate poverty. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will serve as an ambassador, building rapport with strategic partners such as members of the emergency food network, donors, volunteers, the business community, government officials, and food bank associations. The role supports the emergency food shipping and receiving function and coordinating responsibilities within a network of agencies, with a focus on equitably delivering food resources to hunger relief programs open to the public.

The CEO will provide overall strategic direction across organizational activities, community involvement, strategic partnerships, and the team. Key responsibilities include creating a mission- and values-focused culture, fostering team building and leadership development, and developing and executing a strategic plan with deliverables and deadlines. The CEO will represent the organization in the community to increase visibility and understanding of its mandate, maintain strong internal and external relationships, proactively cultivate new partnerships, and engage with local media partners.

In collaboration with the Board, the CEO will support governance through appropriate policies and procedures, monitor and apprise the Board of organizational risk, and attend all Board committee meetings. The CEO will direct annual budget development aligned with strategic and operational plans, ensure effective financial controls and fiscal responsibility, and support timely reporting and transparency to the Board. The CEO will collaborate with senior management to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency, and work alongside the Fundraising Manager to maintain key funding relationships and increase diverse financial support through government and donor partnerships. Qualifications include non-profit management or equivalent experience as an asset, strong written and verbal communication, proven relationship-building abilities, sound decision-making and problem-solving, exceptional organizational and time management skills, and an entrepreneurial, forward-thinking approach aligned with mission and core values.
