The client is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the business through a leadership transition and assume full responsibility for strategy, performance, and risk management. The role is accountable for strengthening leadership effectiveness and operating cadence, maintaining a best-in-class compliance posture, and driving sustainable, profitable growth while protecting brand and reputational equity.
The CEO will own end-to-end strategy and full P&L, establishing KPIs, operating rhythm, and clear accountability. Responsibilities include leading and developing the leadership team by clarifying decision rights and strengthening succession depth, driving commercial performance across channels with an emphasis on route-to-market and portfolio focus, and overseeing operations and supply chain execution through internal teams and external partners to ensure quality, service, and cost discipline.
The role requires seasoned senior leadership with demonstrated P&L ownership (typically at the CEO/President/GM/COO level) in tobacco products or a similarly regulated consumer category, along with proven experience improving execution and compliance under scrutiny. The successful candidate will have strong stakeholder management, executive presence, and governance-facing communication skills, with experience leading diverse teams; multilingual capability (including Spanish) is a plus. A bachelor’s degree is required, and the CEO is expected to maintain rigorous compliance with relevant federal, state, and local requirements and to provide strong financial stewardship and enterprise risk management.
